Last Saturday Paul Winter and the incredible piano wizard Enrique Eisenmann delivered a blessing to the Orcas Island community, an inspired sold out concert preceded by a tribute and toast to Susan.
By plucking Susan out of South Dakota in 1977 to come east to record the album that became ‘Common Ground’, Paul altered the lives of many of the people in the audience. I don’t know that I’ve been at an event where the performers and audience were so aligned in intention, connections woven deeply and over many years.
This event was in the planning before Susan got sick. It is poignant that she wasn’t there but the timing was grace filled. Many tears were shed
In the concert Paul shared this video clip of the Consort performing ‘Common Ground’ at the Fate of the Earth Conference at the Cathedral of St. John the Divine from 1984 with Nancy Rumbel who introduced Susan and I, a very energetic Sue, Pete Seeger, and Susan’s pal Odetta with whom she would discuss the virtues of various bra styles and fry apples and onions late into the night.

How awesome was that! Thanks for sharing, David. I love watching (and singing along).
Wow -- what a blast from the past!!! This was so fun and special to see! Thanks David for posting it and again I wish that I could have been on Orcas for the pre-concert Tribute to Susan and for Paul's concert! Sending big hugs and much love! Nancy
